Lunch Seminar with Nanna Thit

Lunch Seminar: Winning slowly: How social and cultural practices are influencing innovation and change processes in connection with the green transition in shipping

About the seminar
This Ph.D. explores specific projects in the shipping industry in the context of the urgent need to make a green transition. Based on ethnographic fieldwork ashore and onboard, we wish to analyze the projects focusing on the social and cultural processes and organizational context. For many years, the shipping industry has focused on technological, incremental changes, but there is a growing realization that the green transition calls for entirely new approaches and implies new forms of organizing. The industry faces new demands in a new reality that requires new answers and solutions. Therefore, we must ask new questions.
