Interdisciplinary Seminar Series on Climate, Energy and Sustainability: Arctic Special Edition
The Climate Arctic Governance research network (CArGo) is organizing a special edition of the Interdisciplinary Seminar on Climate, Energy and Sustainability with focus on the Arctic. The event takes place in a hybrid form on the 8th of December 2023 at the Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen, and on Zoom. This seminar follows the success of the last twelve editions, which have been taking place at the University of Copenhagen since June 2019.
The seminar offers an opportunity to students and junior researchers to present their work – bachelor thesis, master thesis and other research projects – on Arctic climate, energy, and/or sustainability-related topics, and receive feedback from peers and participants.
Participation is open to all disciplines and universities in Denmark and beyond. We especially encourage those looking for inspiration for their research projects and theses or looking to connect with a broad network of academics and professionals with similar interests and expertise to join. After the seminar, there will be an opportunity for informal networking among the participants.

About CArGo
CArGo is a University of Copenhagen research network seeking to advance interdisciplinary research on Arctic governance to meet current climate and sustainability challenges.
CArGo’s subject areas and activities will focus on Arctic socio-economic systems and the different legal, political, geographical, and cultural regimes at play. The network incorporates scholars from law, political science, geoscience, and humanities to explore research synergies on this topic.
Founding members of CArGo are Kristian Søby Kristensen (Senior Researcher and Director of the Centre for Military Studies at the Department of Political Science), Beatriz Martinez Romera (Associate Professor at the Center for International Law and Governance (CILG) at the Faculty of Law), Frank Sejersen (Associate Professor at the Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies at the Faculty of Humanities) and Ylva Sjöberg (Associate Professor at the Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management at the Faculty of Science).
