Federica is a PhD candidate at the Centre for International Law and Governance (CILG) at the University of Copenhagen. Her interest gravitates around climate change law, ocean governance and environmental law. Her research focuses on the regulation of blue carbon in international climate change law and ocean governance.

Federica holds single-cycle degree (laurea magistrale) in Law from the University of Turin, an LL.M. in Public International Law (environmental law and law of the sea specialisation) from Utrecht University and an LL.M. from the University of Copenhagen.

Prior to starting her PhD, she has worked for different organisations in the areas of coastal management, marine conservation and offshore wind.

Current research

Federica's PhD project, supervised by Associate Prof. Beatriz Martinez Romera (primary supervisor) and Associate Prof. Amnon Lev, explores the interaction between international climate change law and ocean governance, focusing on the regulation (conservation, management and enhancement) of blue carbon ecosystems. The preliminary title for the project is: Towards the regulation of marine carbon sinks: regime interaction in climate change and ocean governance.
