Andreas Hösli
Visiting Stay: January – December 2021
Andreas Hösli is a PhD Candidate at the University of Zurich. The working title of his thesis is "Corporate Climate Responsibility". Andreas is a Swiss qualified attorney-at-law with a main background in litigation (commercial and criminal) and white-collar crime. He holds an LL.M. from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney.
In his PhD thesis, Andreas explores the novel field of private actor legal responsibility in the field of climate change. The methodological approach adopted by Andreas is transnational with a corporate law focus, connecting the dots of public international law and (international) corporate law. He has written several publications, blog posts and newspaper articles over the last two years (in English and German).
During his visiting stay at CILG, he has presented his PhD project at the IV interdisciplinary Seminar on Climate, Energy and Sustainability and at a lunch seminar. In addition, Andreas co-hosted the seminar titled “How to deal with Climate Change as an Institutional Investor” with legal and economic experts from academia and practice. Andreas’ stay is supported by a Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
