Climate Breakfast Seminar - Climate Change Related Loss & Damage: From Concept to Recovery

The Centre for International Law, Conflict and Crisis (CILCC), Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen, the Copenhagen Centre for Disaster Research (COPE) and the student association Casus Clima are happy to announce the Second Climate Breakfast Seminar by Professor Meinhard Doelle Canadian Chair, Marine Environmental Protection, World Maritime University.

The seminar will identify and discuss some of the key issues international and domestic legal regimes around will be challenged to deal with as they encounter claims for loss and damage from climate change.  Among the key issues are who should be eligible to bring claims, who claims can be brought against, what remedies should be available, and what actionable wrongs should be considered.  Different legal regimes can be expected to respond to these issues differently, but many legal regimes will be facing these questions in the decades to come.

Climate Breakfast Seminar Series were launched in June 2019 as a platform to provide expert insights on crucial contemporary climate change issues.
