Danish Armed Forces and Contemporary issues of International Law

Jes Rynkeby Knudsen will address the challenges and developments of Danish military operations across the spectrum. Observations will be made from a practitioner’s operational legal viewpoint addressing topics varying from the legal status of Danish soldiers on foreign soil over protection of personal data in military operations to implementation of screening of weapons under IHL and other contemporary issues.

About the speaker:

Jes Rynkeby Knudsen is chief legal advisor in the Danish Defense Command, editing author of the Danish Military manual on international law relevant to Danish armed forces in international operations and external lecturer at UCPH for 15 years teaching the Laws of armed conflicts at the MA level.
