Lunch Seminar on “Multi-level Inter-Institutional Trust Interactions Across European Countries”

Goran Dominioni,  PhD candidate (European Doctorate in Law and Economics Erasmus University Rotterdam; Bologna University; Hamburg University and Haifa University), is joining CILCC for a two-week research stay (from 29 January – 11 February).

As part of his stay at our faculty, Goran will present his research on “Multi-level Inter-Institutional Trust Interactions Across European Countries” over lunch (bring your own) on the 7th of February (12:15 – 13:00) at meeting room 6B-3-04.

The seminar addresses the spillovers in political support among the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European Central Bank, and the national parliaments of 15 countries between 2000 and 2015. To perform the quantitative analysis, an innovative form of integrable non autonomous Lotka Volterra model is applied, which allows  to identify the kind of interaction (i.e. the sign and the intensity of support spillovers) among institutions. The debate on intra-level interactions in institutional trust is polarized on two opposing views: compensation theory and congruence theory. The research builds in this analysis to offer guidance to national and European policymakers on how to create and preserve support for national and European institutions.

All interested are welcome to attend. Registration is not necessary.
