CECS welcomes Adeodata Kanyamihanda as a visiting researcher until November
CECS is delighted to welcome Adeodata Kanyamihanda as a visiting researcher until 9 November 2026. Adeodata is currently pursuing doctoral research in EU law at the University of Antwerp, where she is supervised by Professor Johan Meeusen. She began her doctoral research in 2024 and subsequently obtained a PhD Fellowship for Fundamental Research from the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO) in 2025 for her research project, “Enhancing International Protection and Safeguards, through a Comparative Legal Approach, for Climate-Displaced Individuals Seeking Refuge in the EU” (project no. 1128826N). Alongside her doctoral research, she served as a teaching assistant in EU law at the University of Antwerp.
She holds a master’s degree from the University of Antwerp, specialising in Belgian public law and EU asylum and migration law, and has undertaken exchange programmes at Université de Louvain-la-Neuve and Université de Montréal.
Beyond academia, Adeodata has participated in Model United Nations conferences and founded Diversity for Law Students, an initiative that received the Queen Mathilde Prize. Her work has been published in Tijdschrift voor Europees en Economisch Recht and Rechtskundig Weekblad, as well as on Verfassungsblog, EU Law Live, and the Review of European Administrative Law blog.
During her time at CECS, Adeodata is hosted by Associate Professor Miriam Cullen.
