New PhD student at CECS - Ricardo Andrés Vásquez Dazarola

wRicardo Vásquez Dazarola joined the CECS on 1 September 2022. His PhD project will explore potential legal/regulatory responses to combat online disinformation during electoral periods under European Union law. Notably, this will be done from a multilevel responsibility perspective where different stakeholders have a degree of commitment to combating disinformation.

 

He will be supervised by professors Dr. Helle Krunke and Dr. Iryina Marchuk. Ricardo holds a Bachelor's in Legal Sciences (LL.B.) from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, Chile. He also obtained an advanced LL.M. in Law and Digital Technologies from Universiteit Leiden, the Netherlands. Before joining the University of Copenhagen, Ricardo worked as an external advisor for the Chilean Parliament (Senate), researching matters related to law and digital technologies. Furthermore, he has worked as an associate for a Chilean-based law firm and as a collaborator for Fundación P!ensa NGO.
