New EU Law Seminar Series on Integration in the EU Pact of Migration and Asylum

A talk with Matteo Bottero

Matteo Bottero will present his most recent legal analysis of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum’s approach to integration. The analysis focuses on legislative provisions concerning labour migrants and international protection seekers and demonstrates that the Pact’s promise of integration is largely illusory. Rather than fostering genuine inclusion, the new EU legal framework offers only a circumscribed set of rights while primarily operating as a mechanism of migrant selection, forced assimilation, and welfare conditionality.

The New EU Law Seminar Series organised by the EU Law Research Group is meant to present and promote avant garde research in EU law.
