Transparent communication requires a common definition and standard for open innovation, to align both parties{\textquoteright} expectations.In this paper we suggest a 5-level classification system for the level of openness , to reduce the contract negotiation complexity and times, between two parties looking to engage in open innovation. The intention is to systematize definitions and contractual terms for open innovation from an operational aspect in the life science industry to reduce entry barriers and boost collaborative value generation.",
