Silvia Adamo employed as associate professor

The Faculty congratulates Silvia Adamo who has been employed as associate professor in the period 1 October 2016 to 30 September 2018

Silvia Adamo received her Ph.D. in Law at the University of Copenhagen. She has studied law in Italy (Università di Pisa) and Portugal (Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Lisboa), and completed her Cand. Jur./LL.M. in Denmark (Københavns Universitet). Prior to starting her Ph.D. she interned at the European Commission.

Her research interests focus on public law, migration and integration law, citizenship law and theory, and legal philosophy. She is editor-in-chief of Retfærd, Nordic Journal of Law and Justice. Her future projects include work on migration and integration in a private/public law context at CEVIA, Center for Enterprise Liability.

She was the recipient of the Danish Council for Independent Research (FSE) three-year postdoctoral fellowship for a research project on immigration and integration law (2009–2012). Before joining CEVIA, she has carried out research for the international collaborative research project bEUcitizen: Barriers towards European Citizenship, funded by the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme (2014–2016).

Silvia Adamo has held visiting fellowships at the Department of Philosophy, Queen’s University, Canada (2006); Berkeley School of Law, University of California (2011); and the European University Institute, Florence (2012). She has lectured on legal philosophy and citizenship law at the Faculty of Law and is a recurrent guest lecturer for MA courses on international migration law and integration law at the Centre for Advanced Migration Studies, University of Copenhagen.
