Leisure time and Student Organisations
We hope you will participate in the social and academic life at the Faculty and have a great time while you are here.
You can choose to get a mentor when you arrive. Your mentor will be a Danish law student and it will provide you with a unique opportunity to feel at home more quickly both the Faculty and in Copenhagen as a city.
Below is a list of some of the student activities at the Law Faculty as well as the University.
Friday Bar
Every second or third Friday, the student organisation Juridisk Diskussionsklub - The Law Debate Team - hosts a Friday Bar at The Law House (Jurahuset), Studiestræde 34. It is open for all Law Students.
Law Students' organisations
The two Law Student Organisations arrange many social events during the semester. This is a place where you can get to know some of the Danish law students:
|
Juridisk Diskussionsklub (Law Debating Club)
|
It is a non-political law debating association. J.D. arranges tours to prisons, courts, ministries etc. but it is also a social club arranging parties for law student as well as the Friday Bar.

ELSA - European Law Students Association
|
It is a non-political organisation for law students and young lawyers. ELSA provides a lot of relevant activities, seminars and tours for both Danish and especially foreign students and provides the best opportunities of meeting law students from other countries. ELSA is also in charge of the mentor programme for our international law students.

International Café
The Student House (Studenterhuset) is in the centre of Copenhagen (Købmagergade 52, right next to the Round Tower) and is a place where students from different faculties can meet, study and have a good time.
During the week the Student House puts on a range of activities such as debates, quiz-night, gay-day, live music and an International Café. Every Wednesday night during the semester there is an International Café in the Student House, an event which is hugely popular both among Danish and international students.
University Sports Club
for all students at the University of Copenhagen.
See their offer of sports activities on http://www.usg.dk
If you are interested in doing sports while you are studying at the University of Copenhagen, we encourage you to make use of their offer. It is cheap compared to joining other clubs and it is a good way to socialise with Danish and other international students in an informal way.
