Written exam

Written exams usually have the duration of four hours, but other variations exist e.g. take-home exams, multiple choice exams etc. The exact type of exam for each course can be found in the course descriptions.

For written exams you are automatically registered for an electronic exam, also called pc-exam. Read about how you attend a pc-exam.

Examination number
Examination scripts are graded anonymously at written exams. In order to do so you must state your examination number instead of your name on the examination script. As a student, you are supposed to retrieve your own examination number on KUnet click "Self service", "Exams, registrations" and "Show registrations". The examination number will be released approximately two weeks before the exam. Additional information about the date, time and place of the exam will also be stated in the same place. Print out the information sheet on KUnet in order to keep in memory the examination number and the other details.

Meeting time
Make sure that you arrive at the latest 30 minutes before the exam is due to start.

Student ID-Card
It is important that you remember to bring along your Student ID-card (or alternatively your passport) for every exam you attend, both written and oral exams. In case you forget to bring along your student ID-card (passport) you can be denied access to the examination room.

What to bring to the exam
In general students are allowed to bring all kinds of printed facilities for the examination, including required reading, supplementary class material and other literature, code of statutes, law reports and an USB-stick with your notes.

Alternatively you are allowed to bring your own hand- or typewritten notes, copies of surveys when collected in samples or placed in ring binders. However, cell phones are not allowed at the examinations.

At the examinations it will be checked that only material allowed is brought along, thus, if material not allowed is revealed after initiating the exam, the student will be dismissed.
