About ILECMA

"I chose ILECMA due to the focus on international law, the interdisciplinary approach, the chance to study with international students – and to be challenged academically."

Nima, ILECMA student

The ILECMA programme is intended for highly qualified and ambitious students with a strong international outlook. The programme is more challenging and demanding than most other master's programmes and it requires dedication and hard work to pursue it.

Interdisciplinary approach

ILECMA studentsAnchored in law, the programme combines law, economics and management and there are courses within all three areas. The first year consists of eight compulsory courses taught at both CBS and The University of Copenhagen. You will learn to apply
an interdisciplinary approach both in your academic work and in practise. The second year consists of a free choice of courses enabling you to add a personal touch to your degree. In the third semester you study abroad either at a university or a business school. In the fourth semester you write your master thesis in collaboration with a company or an organisation.

Challenging learning environment

ILECMA teacher and studentsAll courses are taught by professors with a strong research record within their field and a dedication to apply it in practise. The teaching requires active participation with dialogue and discussions in class as well as teamwork outside class. You are assigned an academic mentor during your studies. The academic mentor will assist you in finding the right specialisation.

Career opportunities

Students in front of BispetorvetThe present global reality calls for key employees who are able to meet challenges equipped with a solid basis of broad specialist knowledge. You learn how to deal with complex legal, managerial and economic challenges in a global context and to work independently as well as part of a team. The programme equips you with competencies that qualify you to take on leadership positions or as highly-placed advisor in Denmark or abroad.

"We have had a lot of positive feedback on the education from government departments, NGOs and businesses with an international profile. They find it very sensible to employ people with a legal background and an international and interdisciplinary profile."
