Visitor at iCourts

Nicole Bürli, a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Law of the University of Zurich, Switzerland visits iCourts from July until the end of December 2012.

Nicole Bürli is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Law of the University of Zurich, Switzerland, where she also worked as a research associate.

She previously studied at the Universities of Bern, British Columbia, and Oxford. Her primary areas of interest are public international law, human rights law, the European Court of Human Rights and indigenous peoples’ rights.

In this context, Nicole Bürli worked and interned with governmental bodies (the Swiss Mission to the United Nations in New York and a Swiss cantonal office on economy and labour), non-profit organisations (NGO Group for the Convention on the Rights of the Child, International Committee for the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas and ATD Fourth World) and the European Court of Human Rights.

While at iCourts Nicole Bürli’s research focuses on the role of amicus curiae interventions before the European Court of Human Rights.
