New visitor at iCourts – Vera Willems

Vera Willems is a third-year PhD researcher in the Department of Sociology, Theory and Methodology of Erasmus School of Law (ESL) at Erasmus University Rotterdam. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Leiden University (2008) as well as a Research Master’s degree in Linguistics from the same university (2010). In addition, she has a Bachelor’s (2012) and a Master’s degree (2013) in Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam, the latter degree she obtained cum laude. From June 2013 until June 2015, Vera was managing editor of Erasmus Law Review, ESL’s international, double-blind peer reviewed, online journal. As of September 2015, she will be a member of the board of the Dutch network for PhD researchers, PNN (Promovendi Netwerk Nederland), which is the body representing all PhD researchers in The Netherlands. Vera’s research interests include the interdisciplinary study of law and linguistics; international law and international relations; corpus linguistics; sociolinguistics; and literature studies.
