New visitor at iCourts - Ciarán Burke

1 March 2016 - 30 June 2016.

Professor Ciarán Burke, Chair for International Law and Director of International Legal Studies at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, will be visiting iCourts from March to July 2016. During his stay, he will be working on and presenting part of a project dealing with the legal and political consequences of the UK's prospective exit from the European Union, co-ordinated with Dr. Ólafur Ísberg Hannesson and Kristin Bangsund of the EFTA Surveillance Authority. Prof. Burke's approach focusses on the possibility of the UK adhering to the EFTA-EEA model post-Brexit, looking at the relevant case law of the EFTA Court and comparing it with the ECJ's jurisprudence, while assessing how this change would impact upon UK constitutional law and governance.
