New PhD Fellow at iCourts

Mihreteab Taye is new PhD Fellow at iCourtsMihreteab Taye is a new PhD Fellow at iCourts. His research project investigates the diffusion of ideas and legal doctrines between legal systems, examining the influence of the ECJ on regional courts in Africa, such as the East African Community Court of Justice and the Economic Community of West African States Court of Justice.

Mihreteab was a full time lecturer at the Faculty of law of the Ethiopian Civil Service University. He has also thought as a part time at a number of other Universities in Ethiopia. Prior to being a lecturer, he has worked as a prosecutor in Ethiopia.

He holds an LL.B degree from Addis Ababa University and an LL.M degree in international law from the Erasmus University in the Netherlands, and he has been a visiting researcher at the United Nations University, Center for Comparative Regional Integration in Belgium.

His Research interest includes comparative law, comparative regionalism, integration and law, and international institutional law.
