Henrik Palmer Olsen publishes in International Criminal Law Review

Henrik Palmer OlsenThe recent issue of ICLR is a special issue dedicated to the philosophy of Criminal Review. Henrik Palmer Olsen participates in this special issue with an article entitled “The End of an Era: Static and Dynamic Interpretation in International Courts”. The article (which is co-authored by Prof. Stuart Toddington) discusses how the emergence of international courts has changed international law from a predominantly static legal field with limited opportunities for international adjudication to impact on the law, to a dynamic fields in which international courts play a role in the legal development. The article analyses the controversial Kupreskic decision by the ICTY in light of this development and concludes with an observation about the need for doctrinal legal scholarship to normatively broaden its analytic categories.
