Federico Fabbrini published a chapter on "The EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and the Right to Data Privacy: The ECJ as a Human Rights Court" in Sybe de Vries et al (eds), "5 Years Legally Binding Charter of Fundamental Rights" (Oxford, Hart Publishing 2015).

The chapter examines the latest case law of the European Court of Justice in the field of privacy and data protection, and claims that it has taken on the role of leading court in this area of human rights law. The book generally examines the effect of the Charter of Fundamental Rights.
