New Visitor at iCourts - Ally Possi

Ally Possi is pursuing his Ph.D degree at the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria. He holds a LLB from Mzumbe University, and LLM from the University of Cape Town. The main focus of his doctoral thesis is on human rights mandate of the East African Court of Justice. The core question of his Ph.D study is to what extent the East African Court of Justice can protect human rights within the East African Community. Ally Possi is also a tutor for the LLM Program on Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa, offered by the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria. He is also an assistant lecturer at Ardhi University, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He holds a scholarship for legal academics from the Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria. In 2012, he was among the beneficiaries of the Coimbra Group Scholarship for the young African Researchers at the Research Centre for Human Rights and Democracy of the University of Graz. Ally Possi’s research area of interest includes international law, international institutional law, international human rights law and African human rights system. During his stay in August 2014 at iCourts, Ally Possi will conduct further research on his thesis and provide a lunch seminar presentation from a chosen topic.
