Mikkel Jarle and Nordic research group secure funds from NOS-HS

New funds for research on Nordic Exceptionalism in International Criminal Justice.

Alongside a multi-disciplinary group of Nordic colleagues, Mikkel Jarle Christensen has secured 402.000 SEK from the Joint Committee for Nordic Research Councils in the Humanities and Social Science (NOS-HS) to kick-start a project on "Nordic Exceptionalism in International Criminal Justice". The grant will fund three high level international conferences in Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen beginning early 2017. The object of the conferences will be to bring together eminent scholars who study the emergence of international criminal justice and the role of Nordic countries in the development of this field of law. In addition, the conferences will feature some of the leading international experts in this field of law. These scholars will be invited to challenge the underlying research agenda on Nordic exceptionalism as well as contribute reflections on how other regional cultures, groupings or entities have impacted international criminal justice.
