Welcome reception (Wednesday 8 September 17:45-21:00 hrs)

cruise through the canals of Copenhagen
Photographer: Christian Alsing

Pick up at your hotel at 17:45 hrs. From here we walk to the harbour where you board chartered, specially built canal launches and cruise through the canals of Copenhagen. You will see Copenhagen as sailors have seen it for several centuries, passing under the incredibly low bridges to view some of the fabulous buildings that - typically for a city with maritime associations - are all close to the sea or the waterways: Christian IV's Stock Exchange, Christiansborg Palace and Holmens Church - the Naval church in Copenhagen - and the charming old sailor's quarter Nyhavn, Amalienborg Palace and the Little Mermaid. Along the canals through Christianshavn, you can still see "old salts" and their descendants, sitting on the wharf enjoying tales of the Seven Seas over a Carlsberg before sailing past Christian IV's old Brewery.

The tour ends at "TOLDBOD", where a buffet dinner will be served.

TOLDBOD is located in an old and very charismatic building, which was originally used as a warehouse and ferry terminal.
