Professor Jesper Lau Hansen becomes a member of the board of the NASDAQ OMX Foundation.
NASDAQ OMX operates marketplaces for securities trading in several countries, among them the three Scandinavian countries Denmark, Sweden and Finland. If the rules of the exchange are violated, the perpetrator is fined. These fines are administered by the NASDAQ OMX Foundation. The funds are granted by the Foundation in support of research and other projects that contributes to a greater understanding of the financial markets.
Until recently, this arrangement only included Sweden and Finland, but now Denmark is included and the Foundation will now include Bjørn Sibbern, CEO of the Danish exchange, and Prof Jesper Lau Hansen, University of Copenhagen.
