Associate Professor

Primary fields of research

Catherine Jacqueson is Associate Professor in EU law and works as a researcher in EU  law and comparative law. Her focus is essentailly on the free movement of persons within the EU and encompasses the following issues:


• Freedom of movement within the EU (eg. healthcare services, social dumping)
• Rights on the basis of citizenship
• Migration to the EU from third countries
• EU and the Member States' employment policies

 She is a member of the Research Centre on Legal Studies in Welfare and EU Market Integration (WELMA).

Catherine Jacqueson teaches European law at undergraduate level and at postgraduate level, inter alia on the implications of the internal market and Union citizenship and the principle of free movement of goods, persons and services.


Catherine Jacqueson has a French law degree (DEA) and wrote her doctoral dissertation in 2003 at the Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen. She also worked as a Research Fellow at St John's College, Oxford University from 2003 to 2007.

 

Current research

Catherine Jacqueson is working within the framework of the Research Center WELMA with different projects, including the right to healthcare services in the EU and EU’s social dimension.
