The Internationalisation of Danish law

This research project addresses some of the legal challenges arising in connection with the internationalisation of law. The main focus is on how these challenges are being handled in Danish and Scandinavian law.

The project comprises the following sub-topics:

  • International Human Rights in the Transformation of State and Law in Scandinavia
  • Access to international sources of law - a Danish Perspective
  • European Legal Concepts in Scandinavian Law and Language:

Translation and Transplantation

  • CISG Interpretation in Danish Courts: Pragmatism, Isolationism or Both?
  • Advocacy Organs: Legal Interpretation between National Norms and International Policies
  • Enforcement of International law in Domestic Courts: The Roles of Courts & Private Parties
  • The Harmonisation of Securities Trading in the European Union


The project includes contributions from the following CRS researchers: Professor Mikael Rask Madsen, Professor Henrik Palmer Olsen, Professor Joseph Lookofsky, Associate Professor Anne-Lise Kjaer, postdoc. Amnon Lev and Assistant Professor Clement Salung Petersen.

Also participating are Professor Jesper Lau Hansen, Professor Rasmus Kristian Feldthusen, Associate Professor Michael Götze and Director Jonas Christoffersen.

The results of the research will be published in English in mid-2011.
