Sovereignty and Liberty

Now available in from Routledge's prestigious GlassHouse series for critical legal thought, "Sovereignty and Liberty: A Study of the Foundations of Power", a new book by associate Professor Amnon Lev. In the book, Amnon Lev reconstructs the semantic format of sovereignty and shows how, from the 17th century, the distribution of civil authority came to revolve around key legal categories (law, contract, and right), each associated with a specific sphere of society. The concluding chapters of the book engage with the perceived crisis of sovereignty and of the institutions that have grown up around it.
